Meet Erik
What Lauren has to say...
When I first met Erik I was immediately drawn to Erik’s sense of humor. He is talented, intelligent and friendly. Erik can strike up a conversation with just about anybody and his personality makes everyone feel at ease. He is fun loving and wants to make sure that everyone is always having a good time and he’s quick to lend a helping hand.
Erik grew up on Long Island with an older sister with whom he’s very close to today and her four children.. They lived in a waterfront house, so family activities were centered on boating and fishing, a passion that Erik still has today and has introduced to me and Aleksander. Erik attended Hofstra University where he earned both a Bachelors degree and later a Masters degree in Finance.
While Erik is book smart and uses that talent at work he is also a very hands-on capable person. His father was an electronics engineer and taught Erik the use of various tools and how to do most anything from a very young age like carpentry, electrical work, engine repair and more. Erik has imparted some of these skills in making our house into a true home, He has improved our home in so many ways, from installing hard wood floors in various rooms, adding new windows and crown moldings in the den, and the biggest project of all finishing our basement. He created an amazing 900 sq ft playroom complete with pool table for all to play in and enjoy.
As a father, I am blown away by his compassion he has for his son. Erik is a wonderful father always interacting with Alek whether it’s reading him books, playing games, building train layouts or helping tend to him when he is sick. Erik loves chasing Alek around the house in games of monster or hide and seek. Outdoors he can be found kicking the soccer ball around, setting up the T-ball so Alek can learn the perfect swing or even showing Alek how to hold his little golf club at the miniature golf course.
When Erik is working on something no matter what it is, he allows Alek to help in whatever way he can even when he gets underfoot you would never know it. Very often when either one of us is doing some kind of activity, Alek will come over and say “I help”. When you talk to Erik about Alek and being a dad he just beams with joy.
